Delphine at the bus stop, 6AM sharp, A star with stars in her hair, cigarette sparking like a neon sign. She wasn’t waiting—no, the bus was waiting for her. No one was lookiong, no double takes, no whispers of curiosity— just me, coffee in one hand, a sketchbook on the table, my nib and me trying to sip without spilling awe. She exhaled smoke like she invented it, stood like the morning owed her something, which of course it did. That kind of cool isn’t learned, it’s assigned at birth. And me? I could never be that cool— just a witness, drowning in caffeine and sketch envy.-JBR Delphine is one of many portraits from the Collection entitled "Profiles Of Louisiana", sketches turned to digital paintings from my travels through Louisiana.
